A Taste of Sri Lanka Tour

A Taste of Sri Lanka photo

One of Asia's true hidden gems, Sri Lanka is a country full of unspoilt natural beauty, lush green jungles, tea plantations, ancient sites, beautiful beaches and heaps of elephants. Everyone who visits Sri Lanka is touched by its magic!

Due to unprecedented demand for our Kandy Festival departure date, 22 July 2012, we have added another group departure! Frank Bunnik will be escorting the first tour group and will be mingling extensively with the second group during their trip. Frank's love for Sri Lanka grew in the aftermath of the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004, when he led a Bunnik Tours organised aid mission. Since then Frank has returned many times to work with people in need. On this tour Frank will introduce you to a side of Sri Lankan daily life and culture rarely seen by other tourists.

Smile...
Our Sri Lanka tour starts with a tour of Negombo followed by a visit to the world famous Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Check out our video link opposite as you can watch the young elephants play, eat palm leaves, drink bottles of milk and bath in the river. It's an unforgettable experience.

Enjoy the tropical scenery
From here we explore Sri Lanka’s secluded monastic ruins of Ritigala. Located in a lush forest the ruins are hidden within a beautiful forest setting of streams and pools. Next stop Sigiriya, here we’ll  visit the famous rock fortress, considered one of the wonders of the ancient world.

Soak up the atmosphere
We head to the coast next, stopping at Kandy on the way, if you take this tour in July it’s here you’ll experience the colourful Kandy festival. When we arrive at the coast you’ll love the relaxed atmosphere, stunning beaches and crystal clear waters.
