Itinerary
Day 1 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
Today take the local train from Kandy to the lush green hill resort of Nuwara Eliya. Situated approximately 2,000 metres above sea level,
Nuwara Eliya’s climate can be a pleasant relief from the tropical heat of the lowlands. Built during the 19th century, the well kept, neat city has a strong Victorian influence and was originally planned to be an English village. Nuwara Eliya is in the heart of the Sri Lankan tea growing region and is famous for its Ceylon Tea. On arrival you will visit a tea plantation and factory and learn about the tea making process. You will also take a guided city tour of Nuwara Eliya giving you a glimpse into life in the colonial heyday.
Day 2 Nuwara Eliya - Colombo
Today you will leave the cooler surroundings of Nuwara Eliya and drive to Colombo for your onward journey. [B]
