Cambodia - Angkor Wat Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Siem Reap
Upon arrival at Siem Reap Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2 Tonle Sap Lake
Today you explore beautiful Tonle Sap Lake. Located in the heart of Cambodia, this extraordinary lake expands up to seven times its original size during the monsoon season. Its ecosystem is one of the richest and most diverse in the world. You’ll travel by boat past submerged forests and fishing farms to the floating fishing villages at the edge of the lake. [B]

Day 3 Angkor Wat

The day starts with a sightseeing tour of the amazing Angkor Wat temples. In 1992, the whole of the Angkor Wat complex was granted UNESCO World Heritage status. Today’s highlights include the magnificent Royal City of Angkor Thom which measures some 10km sq and is encircled by a 100m-wide moat. Within the centre of the city, you’ll find the Terrace of the Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper Kings and the Royal Enclosure. You’ll also visit Ta Prohm where the ruins are still covered by lush jungle and look as they would have when they were first discovered. [B]

Day 4 Angkor Wat
A second full day to explore the various temples, monuments and shrines of Angkor Wat. Within the main temple, you’ll discover the world’s longest continuous bas-relief which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. The day ends with a spectacular view of the sunset from one of the temple tops. [B]

Day 5 Depart Siem Reap

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. [B]
