The local currency is Kyat, however US Dollars are frequently used.
Please remember that it is essential to bring ample cash in US dollars to cover all personal expenses for the entire trip as credit cards, ATM cards and travellers cheques are not used in Burma. US dollars can be changed into Kyat locally.
