Galapagos Cruise - Legend 4 Day Option Itinerary

Day 1   Arrive Galapagos – Sombrero Chino
Welcome to Galapagos Islands! Your guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you to the M/V Galapagos Legend. Visit Sombrero Chino, a tiny island just off the southeast tip of Santiago. Its name (Chinese Hat) describes the island’s shape, and its special landscape is worth the visit. [L,D]

Day 2   Santa Cruz (Dragon Hill) – Floreana
Walk to a saltwater lagoon behind the beach, where on some occasions, many pink flamingos can be seen. The trail leads to Dragon Hill, offering a lovely view of the bay. This is a nesting site for reintroduced land iguanas and there is also a Holy Stick Forest. Cruise to Floreana for a wet landing on a greenish coloured sand beach. Here you hike from the black mangrove beds to a large, brackish lagoon, which holds one of the biggest flamingo populations in the Galapagos. This island features endemic plants such as Scalesia villosa, Galapagos daisies, white and black mangrove and holy stick. [B,L,D]

Day 3   Espanola – San Cristobal
Learn more about the lava terrain and cross the inactive lava fields. Besides the sea lion colonies, this is a very important site for bird watching. Various bird species such as the mocking bird of Espanola, Nazca booby and tropic bird can be spotted and seen. See a large colony of marine iguanas, lava lizards and rally light foot crabs. During your trek, see the world’s largest colony of waved albatross. A major highlight is their mating season from May through to December. You later arrive at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal, where you visit the breeding centre and learn about the National Park’s breeding programme with the giant tortoises. There is then time to shop for souvenirs, arts and crafts. [B,L,D]

Day 4   North Seymour – Depart Galapagos
Here you see swallow tailed gulls and sea lions. This site is a major nesting colony of blue footed boobies and has the largest colony of the magnificent frigate bird. You will also spot both the marine iguanas and land iguanas. Transfer to Baltra Airport for your departure. [B]
