Independent Israel Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Israel
Welcome to Israel, a country of amazing diversity and beauty with a complicated and fascinating history. You will be met and transferred to your hotel and the remainder of your day is at leisure. Overnight in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

Day 2 Jerusalem

Enjoy a fascinating tour of Israel's capital Jerusalem, the spiritual centre of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Wandering through the narrow streets and alleyways of the Old City, you will undeniably feel immersed in history. Visit the Cardo, the reconstructed main street of Byzantine Jerusalem from the 6th century, before continuing to the Western Wall of Temple Mount, the most sacred spot in the Jewish religion. Walk the Via Dolorosa, traditionally held to be the route that Jesus walked, carrying his cross, on the way to his crucifixion. You will aso visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the holiest Christian site in the world and an important pilgrimage destination since the 4th century. In the New City, see the Knesset, the legislative branch of Israeli government, and visit Yad Vashem, Israel's official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Overnight in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

Day 3 Masada and the Dead Sea
Today you will journey into the Judean Hills and along the shores of the Dead Sea – the lowest point on earth! Upon arrival in Masada, you will ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans. Continue to the Dead Sea, and enjoy some free time to swim (or float!) in the salty, bouyant waters before travelling back to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

Day 4 Depart Jerusalem
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
