Istanbul to Damascus Tour

Travel through an ancient land where cultures met, empires thrived and trade flourished. A place of grand monuments, countless legends, stunning scenery and warm, welcoming people.

Tour exotic Istanbul
Our tour starts with two nights in the exotic city of Istanbul. Our sightseeing here includes the magnificent Topkapi Palace, the unique Blue Mosque and the exotic Spice Bazaar. From here we visit the Turkish capital of Ankara before continuing on to the unique and surreal landscape of Cappadocia. Here we visit one of the amazing underground cities and tour the Goreme Valley where thousands of years of erosion have created a land of ‘fairy chimneys’.

Explore ancient ruins and Roman statues
Next our tour continues towards Syria, stopping at many fascinating sights along the way including Mount Nemrut and Hatay. At Mount Nemrut we explore the amazing hilltop ruins and marvel at the fragments of large statues built over 2,000 years ago, depicting lions, eagles, kings and various ancient gods. On our last day in Turkey we explore Hatay where we visit the Archaeological Museum and see the rich collection of ancient Roman statues and mosaics on display.

Discover the wonders of Syria
As our tour enters Syria we’ll see a contrast in culture compared to Turkey. We start in the bustling city of Aleppo where we visit the Grand Mosque and the colourful bazaar. From here we visit the impressive Krak des Chevalier in Homs, the world’s greatest crusader fortress. We then travel into the heart of the Syrian Desert to the see the ancient ruins of Palmyra, a wealthy city until the 3rd century BC. The Syrian capital Damascus is the last stop on our tour where highlights include the National Museum and the lively souq.
