The Operations Team

Annelieke Huijgens, Operations Manager

Annelieke is one of Bunnik Tours longest serving members of staff joining the company in 1997, she has worked in retail, product and reservations. Annelieke has a real passion for travel and has travelled extensively but the list of destinations she has visited was given a big boost when her and long term partner Gary took their long service leave in 2009/10. On her three months leave Annelieke and Gary lived the Bunnik Tours brochure as they followed our itineraries through Laos, Jordan, Syria, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Peru. They also managed a few additional destinations including Antarctica, Holland and the UK.

Originating from Holland Annelieke has been in Australia for 16 years, although wanting to keep in touch with her roots she stills rides a dutch bike, which she brought to Australia with her on the plane!

In her spare time she loves visiting Adelaide's Central Market to stock up up on Gouda cheese (she says it’s the worlds nicest, but we’re not all convinced!) and eat dim sims and Charn kway Teow.

One of our more sporty members of staff Annelieke regularly goes to the gym and plays hockey. And when she’s not playing sport she loves watching it, preferably with a nice glass of red in her hand!

David Hammett, Reservations Manager

Dave has been with the Bunnik team for over 10 years, walking through the doors for the first time as a fresh faced 18 year old back in 2001. Starting as a junior consultant, Dave now heads up our reservations department.

Like most of our staff, Dave has travelled around the world, most recently to Egypt, South America, and enjoyed Christmas 2010 in snowy (but beautiful) New York City with his beautiful wife Alex.

Dave is a football (soccer) fanatic, following Manchester United in the English Premier League (although he was born in West London and his Dad keeps reminding him of his much loved Queens Park Rangers). He plays football for South Coast United Soccer Club in the Sunday Amateur league, and oversees the organisation of the regular Bunnik Tours Foosball Tournaments.

In his spare time Dave enjoys gardening and kicking back on the weekend with his best mates, talking about football (and other general stuff lads talk about) and having a few ice cold beers.

Chloe Marshman, Wholesale Consultant

Chloe emigrated to Australia a few years ago from sunny England and she still has the accent to prove it. While living in England, Chloe and her family travelled a lot each year to exotic places including Spain, Portugal, Crete, Zakynthos and Florida. In recent years, since she has been in Adelaide, Chloe has explored Egypt, Vietnam, Cambodia, Syria. She has also been back to the UK a few times and with Greece being one of her favourite destinations her last holiday was to Mykonos and Santorini.

After completing her Certificate III in Travel and Tourism in 2008, Chloe joined the Bunnik Tours team and has added a certain level of noise and fun to the office, especially in the afternoons while playing foosball.

Chloe is a bit of a fitness junkie as she enjoys hitting the gym with her fellow colleagues Sacha, Annelieke and Kylie, and also attends weekly Zumba classes with her mum. The only real negative about Chloe is that she is a keen supporter of Port Power, thanks to her boyfriend Tony. We are trying to get her to support the Crows, but she will have none of it.

Leon Cowen, Wholesale Consultant

Leon joined Bunnik Tours in 2009 with over 14 years travel industry experience. He spent many of these years with Venture Holidays in Adelaide and as a travel consultant in London, while on a working holiday. Leon says the best thing about going over to London was meeting and falling in love with his beautiful wife, Fabiana. They married in Brazil and then returned to Australia in 2004. Leon and Fabiana recently celebrated the birth of their first child Luiz in January 2012.  Being married to a Brazilian, Leon is very multi-lingual and can speak Portuguese fluently, and also understands a little Spanish. His English is pretty ordinary though.

Leon had a pony tail for many years at the request of his Brazilian mother-in-law, however this was recently chopped off and has made him look about 10 years younger overnight!

Being fanatical about sport, Leon will quite happily watch any sport, but is a huge fan of the English Football team, Everton. He’s hoping their long wait to win a championship comes to an end soon, but isn’t overly optimistic!!!

Robyn Duggan, Wholesale Consultant

Robyn has recently got married to her partner Danny of over 7 years, in the Ceremonial Garden at the Old Clarendon Inn. It was a fantastic day that she’ll never forget! For their honeymoon, Robyn and Danny travelled to Koh Samui and joined the Star Cruise (Virgo) at Singapore. The best stop on the cruise was at Phuket when they hired a tuk tuk for the day to travel around the island. Robyn has also travelled to South India with Bunnik Tours for an educational trip which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Robyn came to do some work experience with Bunnik tours which proved very useful – as soon after leaving, she was back in the office as a full time employee in the retail team. She later moved to inbound travel then to the Operations department to join the wholesale reservations side of the business.

Robyn loves to take her Jack Russell Rocky, for a walk everyday – he is always waiting by the front door when she gets home ready to go (and he makes you feel guilty if you don’t go!). She also loves to enjoy nice food and wine with her family and friends.

Kylie Boyle, Documentation Specialist

Kylie has been part of the Bunnik Tours team since April 2010, joining us with 3 and a half years travel industry experinece. She has been a great acquisition to Bunnik Tours as she previously worked at Consolidated Travel as a ticketing agent, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.

She loves to travel and would, one day, love to marry her gorgeous boyfriend Garth and travel to the Maldives for their honeymoon. Garth was the person behind the renovation of our Adelaide head office, thus can be blamed if things start to fall apart (just joking).

Kylie has 2 very cute puppy dogs - a Bull Mastiff and a Boxer/Rottweiler, whom she loves dearly.  She also has a rather large family and enjoys spending time with them all, so they usually take up a fair amount of her spare time.

In between her netball, basketball and gym nights, Kylie also trains hard on the foosball table with her team mate Chloe.
Kylie looks forward to the city to bay every year, and a nice cold beer at the end of the finish line!

Ling Tan, Ticketing officer

Believing in “life is either a daring adventure, or nothing” sums up our ticket-master Ling. She came to Australia from China in 2005 and has successfully achieved her Master Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Certificate 3 in International Retail Travel and a bilingual Interpreting and Translation Diploma at TAFE.

Ling is probably the least travelled person at Bunnik Tours, however she has probably seen more of Australia than most Australians! She now has a very busy and interesting job – she makes other people’s travel plans happen as she issues tickets for the entire company.

Ling has a lot of hobbies – she loves playing badminton, singing karaoke, watching movies, writing calligraphy and going to a Buddha temple once a week. She has also recently fallen in love with pool, as she thinks playing pool with others can train the brain more logically in a relaxing environment. Interesting… we may need to invest in a pool table too in our lunch room.

Ling loves to eat, and if you see her figure you too will ask where she puts it! She is always willing to try new foods and cuisines, and luckily for her, she is living in the right city.

One of Ling’s favourite mottos is “ Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present” - Bil Keane.
