
South India is a feast for the senses. Its diversity in terms of landscapes, people and cultures, food habits, art and architecture, makes it fascinating. From the temples of Tamil Nadu to cruising the peaceful backwaters of Kerala, South India always has something new and adventurous to offer.
Travelling South
Our South India tour starts in Chennai, where we’ll visit an ancient Shiva temple before continuing our tour further into South India. On the tour we’ll stop at Maduarai where we’ll visit the Sri Meenakshi Temple, it has 14 stunning towers all elaborately sculptured and painted.
Sailing through India
Next we’ll take a boat trip through the lush Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, where we’ll see lots of wildlife including elephants and monkeys. Our tour continues on the water now as we enjoy the totally unique experience of boarding a traditional rice boat and sailing through the peaceful, serene backwaters of Kerala.
Traditional snake charmers
Then it’s on to Kochi where we’ll take a sightseeing tour of the town, highlights include the Jewish synagogue, Fort Kochi, St Francis Church and the Mattancherry Palace. Here in Kochi you can also see traditional snake charmers at work.
