Tour Guides
Our tours are locally hosted. This means an English-speaking guide based in the country you are visiting will escort the tour. On some multi-country tours there is a different guide in each country. For example, our Egypt and Jordan tour has an Egyptology expert leading the tour in Egypt and a licenced Jordanian guide in Jordan.
We carefully select our guides to ensure they are true experts in their fields and have a genuine love for their country. They have a wealth of information and look forward to welcoming you to their country and culture.
Below are some of our most popular tour guides:

Spain
Born in Barcelona, Luis is one of our wonderful guides in Spain. With his degree in Art History, who else is better equipped to show you all the amazing cultural sites around the city. Besides Barcelona, he knows there are plenty more sights to see in Spain. “I like to show the richness of my country and how different it is – the character, the culture, the art. It’s completely different from the North to the South in Andalusia.” We asked Luis why he loves being a tour guide and his answer quite simply is “because I love to travel, I couldn’t be closed in an office. Touring allows me to meet very different people and most of the time, after a 3 week tour, it’s more like travelling with friends.”
Spain
Patrick has worked as a tour guide now for almost 40 years and spends most of his time showing groups around Europe and in particular Spain. Even after all this time he still loves being a guide as he gets great enjoyment from sharing his local knowledge and meeting new people.
Europe
One of our European guides Rita accompanies tours in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Germany and Scandinavia. With over 35 years experience she is one of our most knowledgeable and popular guides. Rita loves meeting new people and over the years of guiding Bunnik groups she is pleased to say that she now has many new friends in Australia.
South America
Gina is our angel in South America and has been guiding Bunnik groups for 6 years. Small in stature but with a huge heart and passion to match, Gina loves the Aussie sense of humour and adventure. "This is such a diverse continent and I love seeing how Aussies take it all in their stride and soak it up with that 'no worries' attitude."
Egypt
Say hello to Eman, one of our fantastic guides in Egypt. She has guided many archaeological tours, worked with world-famous Egyptologists and has also lectured at international universities. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more qualified guide to open up the magical land of the pharaohs for you!
She even comes with recommendations from the US Ambassador to Egypt, "We would recommend her without hesitation to any English-speaking visitor who wants an insightful and informative tour of this wonderful country."
Egypt
After completing his studies in Egyptology, Medhat began his career as an Egyptologist in 1995. After leading tour groups for more than 15 years he has an amazing wealth of knowledge which he delights in sharing with his groups. When asked what he likes best about his job, Medhat replied, "Even after all this time I still find ancient Egyptian history fascinating and the fact that we are still finding new discoveries just makes it even more exciting."
Jordan
Ibrahim is one of our tour guides in Jordan taking in the sights of Wadi Rum, Petra and the Dead Sea. His favourite experience is walking through the Siq and catching the first glimpse of the Treasury at Petra. "Tourism to Jordan is growing every year and I love the fact Australians are travelling all this way just to see my country!"
Japan
Meet Naoko, our Bunnik Tours guide for Japan. With over 7 years experience she enjoys showing visitors around Japan, particularly Bunnik Tours groups. She likes taking groups to the areas of outstanding natural beauty such as Mt Fuji and Hakone. Naoko also likes visiting the ancient towns of Takayama and Kyoto and enjoys sharing the history and culture of Japan with Australian visitors.
Vietnam
Ut loves showing people around Vietnam. He said, "I can explain all about how Vietnam has changed after the war and I can talk about the history but I feel the best way to really experience a place is to meet the people and see how they live, which is why I love showing people what daily life in Vietnam is like."
Sri Lanka
Priya has welcomed every Bunnik Tours group to Sri Lanka during the last 6 years. A champion fisherman, Priya is a devoted husband and father of three teenage girls. Priya loves sharing Sri Lanka with visitors but also has a passion for helping those less fortunate and has been actively helping Frank Bunnik with a number of community and charity projects.
