Day 1 Depart Australia

Day 2 Arrive in Vienna
Guten morgen - welcome to Austria! We will be met at the airport and transferred to our hotel where the afternoon is free to relax before tonight’s welcome dinner. [D]

Day 3 Vienna
This morning we explore glorious Vienna. We visit the Hofburg Palace, currently the official residence of the President of Austria, and the stunning Saint Stephen’s Cathedral with its amazingly colourful tile roof which has become one of the city's most recognisable symbols. During our tour we also see the stunning Belvedere Palace, the UN buildings and vivid reminders of the city’s imperial history. [B]

Day 4 Vienna - Budapest
Today we cross the border into Hungary through the spectacularly scenic region of Transdanubia, to the capital Budapest. Here we have time to explore this delightful city which is split into two parts by the River Danube. [B,D]

Day 5 Budapest
Highlights of this morning's city tour of Budapest include the ornate parliament buildings, Royal Palace, the Castle Hill area, Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, Heroes Square and Gellert Hill. [B]

Day 6 Budapest - Krakow
Today, the road to Krakow takes us through the lovely hills and countryside of Slovakia, past the Tatras Mountains and on to the great plains of Poland, the geographic heart of Europe. [B,D]

Day 7 Krakow
Krakow is one of the most beautiful old towns in Europe and also the birthplace of Pope John Paul II. For centuries, activity has centred around the Main Market Square which we visit this morning as part of our city tour. Other highlights include a visit to Wawel Hill, the Royal Cathedral and Saint Mary’s Basilica. [B]

Day 8 Krakow - Warsaw
This morning there is the opportunity to take an optional visit to Auschwitz, which stands as a powerful memorial to all those who suffered there. In the afternoon, we drive to Warsaw via the town of Czestochowa where we visit the Yasna Gora Monastery and see the famous Black Madonna. [B,D]

Day 9 Warsaw
We explore the dramatic city of Warsaw, where we enjoy a panoramic drive through the city followed by a walking tour of the wonderfully restored Old Town. Highlights include the Saxon Gardens and the Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own or to simply relax in one of the many cafes. [B]

Day 10 Warsaw - Berlin
Today we travel west from Warsaw to Berlin with a short tour of the city of
Poznan en route. [B,D]

Day 11 Berlin
Berlin has been the centre of European history for the last 80 years and now it’s our turn to explore this historic city. Highlights include the Reichstag, the Renaissance building that once housed Germany’s Parliament, and the lovely Schloss Charlottenburg. Our tour continues through the city to view other famous sights such as the Opera House, the Schiller Theatre and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The afternoon is at leisure. [B]

Day 12 Berlin - Prague
Today we head to Prague, via Dresden, a beautiful Baroque city. Here we see the Zwinger Palace and the Semper Opera House. Prague is one of the gems of Europe as the inner city survived both world wars completely intact. This city is full of magnificent architecture, cultural influences, beautiful cobblestone streets and great beer! [B,D]

Day 13 Prague
Today, our city tour starts with a panoramic drive to the Wenceslas Square, the Strahov Stadium and Castle Square. We continue on foot to the Royal Castle of Hradcany and then stroll over the famous Charles Bridge to the Jewish Ghetto and the world-famous Astronomical Clock in the heart of old Prague. [B]

Day 14 Depart Prague
This afternoon we begin our journey home. [B]

Day 15 In transit
