Marvel at the ancient treasures of Libya
Our Middle East tour starts in Tripoli, the capital of Libya. Highlights here include the National Museum, Marcus Aurelius Arch, the ancient medina and colourful souks. From here we travel to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Sabratha with its spectacular sandstone theatres. Next we head into the Sahara to ancient Ghadames well known for its ancient city walls, labyrinth-style streets and distinctive architecture. After a day of exploring sit back, relax and enjoy sunset over the Sahara Desert – it’s an experience not to be missed.

Explore the fascinating site of Leptis Magna
A real highlight of our time in Libya is trip to the ancient site of Leptis Magna, once a prominent city of the Roman Empire it was reclaimed by the desert until the 1920’s. From Tripoli we fly to Benghazi to visit the ancient Greek city of Cyrene. Then there is just time to relax in the charming port of Apollonia before our Middle East tour crosses the border into Egypt.

Experience all the wonders of ancient Egypt
We begin the Egypt part of our tour in Alexandria, where we visit the battlefields of El Alamein, Pompey’s Pillar and the Catacombs, before continuing to Cairo. In Cairo we’ll see all the must see sights including the Great Pyramids of Giza, the iconic Sphinx and world famous Egyptian Museum before boarding our Nile Cruise. Cruising the Nile is a great way to travel in Egypt and during our journey we’ll enjoy various shore excursions including a visit to the stunning temples of Abu Simbel, the riverside temples of Kom Ombo and the The Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s best preserved temples.
