Cosmopolitan Tel Aviv & Ancient Synagogues

Welcome to Tel Aviv! Enjoy a day at leisure to explore this cosmopolitan city. Your touring starts with a coastal drive to Galilee visiting the ancient city of Caesarea and taking in a panoramic view of Haifa along the way. Explore Safed, the centre of Jewish mysticism, tour Golan Heights and enjoy a winery tour and tasting.

The Western Wall & Bethlehem

In Jerusalem, visit biblical Nazareth, the octagonal Church of St Peter and take in a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives. You'll also spend time at the Western Wall, and delve into the rich history of Bethlehem, the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square. Enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine and an amazing Sound & Light Show at the Tower of David Museum.

Dead Sea & Masada

Spend time at the Israel Museum where you'll visit the Shrine of the Book - home to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Continue your travels via the Judean dessert to the Dead Sea and enjoy time floating in the buoyant salt-rich water! Along the way stop at Masada, where you'll ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress built by King Herod. You final day will be free to explore Jerusalem at leisure.

Day 1. Tel Aviv

Welcome to Israel. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2. Tel Aviv

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore cosmopolitan Tel Aviv. [B]

Day 3. Tel Aviv - Galilee

Drive along the coastal plain this morning to the ancient city of Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region. Continuing towards Galilee, stop at Megiddo, the site of the biblical Armageddon, and enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant in Daliat­ el-Carmel. In Haifa witness a panoramic view over Haifa Bay and see the Bahai Gardens. [B,L,D]

Day 4. Galilee

This morning venture to Safed, the centre of Jewish mysticism, and discover the ancient synagogues and the artists’ colony. Touring the Golan Heights, you’ll also stop at the Golan Winery for a tour and enjoy a wine tasting. [B,D]

Day 5. Galilee - Jerusalem

Begin the day with a visit to biblical Nazareth and its Church of Annunciation. In Capernaum you’ll see the ruins of the synagogue and the octagonal Church of St Peter. [B]

Day 6. Jerusalem

Start the day with a magnificent panoramic view over Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, then walk through the Old City’s Armenian and Jewish Quarters. Spend time at the Western Wall, the Kotel and the Christian Quarter. This afternoon visit Bethlehem and delve into its incredible history, visiting Rachel’s Tomb, the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square. [B]

Day 7. Jerusalem

Explore the Israel Museum this morning and visit the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. In the evening enjoy a traditional Middle Eastern dinner followed by a Sound & Light show at the Tower of David Museum. [B,D]

Day 8. Dead Sea & Masada

Travel via the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Stop along the way at Qumran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found then drive along the shore to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress built by King Herod. Then enjoy some time at the Dead Sea. The salt content of the water here means you can float without even trying! [B]

Day 9. Jerusalem

Enjoy a day at leisure in Jerusalem. [B]

Day 10. Jerusalem

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey. [B]

At Bunnik Tours we don’t put specific age limits on our tours, but we also recognise some travellers may find our itineraries challenging.
We have a duty of care to all tour participants and the tour guides, so we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness required by all our clients to attempt to ensure your safety and the safety of other travellers on our tours.
At Bunnik Tours our goal is for all our travellers to enjoy their tour, not struggle through it! Which is why we want to work with you to ensure you are on the best possible trip for your fitness level. We do reserve the right to refuse bookings if we feel that the requirements of the tour are too demanding.
Bunnik Tours are for independently minded travellers with good levels of mobility.
Our tours include:

In some regions travellers can also expect:
1. Long days of travelling, at times on dirt and gravel roads in Africa

3. Extended periods of walking/hiking through humid forest areas in Rwanda
4. Limited medical facilities in remote areas
Bunnik Tours travellers are required to at least:
1. Be able to walk 2-3 hours on uneven surfaces without the use of any walking aid, on any given day
2. Walk up multiple flights of stairs and short, steep hills
3. Stand for 20 minutes without needing to sit down, often in hot/humid climates
4. Carry their own luggage
5. Get on and off various modes of transport without assistance, including small boats
