Be amazed by incredible Jordan

Our tour starts in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Here we visit the beautifully preserved Roman cities of Um Qais and Jerash. From Amman we continue to the famous Dead Sea where you'll get to float in it's salt-rich buoyant waters - a unique experience! We head to Wadi Rum and enjoy the night at a Bedouin desert camp underneath a beautiful blanket of stars. Next is Petra, a real highlight of this tour and one of the world’s greatest treasures.

Byzantine Castles & Olive Pies

Welcome to Cyprus, an island rich in history and culture, and one of the oldest civilisations in the Mediterranean. We'll explore medieval Castles and fortresses dating back to the Byzantine era, travel to the spectacular Troodos Mountains, and take a 4WD Jeep safari to discover the natural wonders of the Akamas Peninsula. Along the way savour the unique tastes of Cyprus including olive pie making, locally baked haloumi cheese pastries, traditional wines & liqueurs and dinner on a beautiful sunset yacht cruise of the Mediterranean.

Day 1. Depart Australia

Day 2. Arrive Amman

Welcome to Jordan! This afternoon we’ll take a short city-sightseeing tour, including the Citadel and the Roman Theatre before enjoying a welcome drink with your fellow travellers this evening. 

Day 3. Jerash Excursion

Today we visit the beautifully preserved Roman cities of Umm Qais and Jerash, as well as the impressive Ajloun Castle. Tonight we enjoy a welcome dinner. [B,L,D]

Day 4. Amman - Dead Sea

Heading out of Amman, we travel to the lowest point on Earth - the Dead Sea. The salt content of the water is four times that of most oceans! [B,L,D]

Day 5. Dead Sea - Madaba - Petra

This morning we make our way to Madaba and visit the Church of St George. We’ll also stop at the biblical site of Mt Nebo, where Moses first saw the Promised Land. This afternoon we visit ‘Little Petra’, one of the oldest archaeological sites in the Middle East. Hidden away amidst spectacular hills, this unique site was unknown to the western world until a 19th century exploration. [B,D]

Day 6. Petra

Today we discover the famous Lost City of Petra. Carved into the sheer rockface by the Nabataeans more than 2,000 years ago, it was an important junction for the silk and trade routes. [B,D]

Day 7. Petra - Wadi Rum

We venture south to Wadi Rum. We’ll enjoy an exciting jeep tour, guided by local Bedouin tribesmen. We’ll spend the night in a Bedouin-style desert camp. [B,D]

Day 8. Wadi Rum - Amman

This morning we’ll take a camel ride and see traces of ancient civilisations in the many carved inscriptions found throughout the area. Next we travel back to Amman via the impressive Crusader fortress of Kerak, its citadel and fortress separated from the town by a deep dry moat. [B,D] 

Day 9. Amman - Larnaca - Limassol

Enjoy the morning at leisure before our evening flight to Cyprus. [B]

Day 10. Limassol

Discover the city of Limassol on a full day of sightseeing today. Our day will begin at the medieval Castle of Kolossi and the ancient Kingdom of Kourion. We’ll also visit the Olive Park and try some local dishes over lunch.

Day 11. Nicosia & Kyrenia Excursion

Today we’ll explore the harbour and medieval fortress of Kyrenia, dating back to the Byzantine era. This afternoon we’ll visit the town of Nicosia and discover its 16th century Venetian walls, the Famagusta Gate, and have some free time to enjoy Laiki Geitonia. [B]

Day 12. Kykkos, Troodos & Omodos Excursion

We explore the picturesque Troodos Mountains this morning, beginning at the Byzantine Kykkos Monastery.

Special Experience: The village of Omodos has a long tradition in wine making, and we’ll be able to try a selection of the local wines and liqueurs, including the famous Commandaria dessert wine and Zivania.

This afternoon we’ll visit the local bakery and sample its famous haloumi cheese pastries. [B]

Day 13. Limassol - Paphos

This morning we’ll make our way to the heritage-listed town of Paphos. Along the way we’ll stop at Petra tou Romiou, a stunning beach and birthplace of the legendary goddess of beauty and love, Aphrodite. [B]

Day 14. Paphos

The day is at leisure for you to enjoy this beautiful town at your own pace. Why not head down to the Limanaki (harbour) area? It’s one of the most picturesque spots on the island and home to quaint shops, restaurants, bars and traditional taverns. [B]

Day 15. Paphos    

This morning we’ll discover the natural beauty of Akamas on a 4WD jeep safari. One of the most beautiful spots on the island, it is also home to the Baths of Aphrodite. We’ll then enjoy a traditional Cypriot lunch at a local tavern. [B,L,D]

At Bunnik Tours we don’t put specific age limits on our tours, but we also recognise some travellers may find our itineraries challenging.
We have a duty of care to all tour participants and the tour guides, so we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness required by all our clients to attempt to ensure your safety and the safety of other travellers on our tours.
At Bunnik Tours our goal is for all our travellers to enjoy their tour, not struggle through it! Which is why we want to work with you to ensure you are on the best possible trip for your fitness level. We do reserve the right to refuse bookings if we feel that the requirements of the tour are too demanding.
Bunnik Tours are for independently minded travellers with good levels of mobility.
Our tours include:
1. Generous amounts of free time
2. Lots of walking
3. Local and authentic experiences including various modes of transport and accommodation
In some regions travellers can also expect:
1. Long days of travelling, at times on dirt and gravel roads in Africa
2. Extended periods at high altitude (3,000-4,000 metres) in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Ethiopia
3. Extended periods of walking/hiking through humid forest areas in Rwanda
4. Limited medical facilities in remote areas
Bunnik Tours travellers are required to at least:
1. Be able to walk 2-3 hours on uneven surfaces
2. Walk up multiple flights of stairs and short, steep hills
3. Stand for 20 minutes without needing to sit down, often in hot/humid climates
4. Carry their own luggage
5. Get on and off various modes of transport without assistance, including small boats
