See the treasured monuments of Egypt, watch traditional life flow past on a Nile cruise and explore ancient temples. Soak up Greece’s vivid history, witness a sunset over Meteora and visit the whitewashed islands of Santorini and Mykonos.

Explore Egypt

Our tour commences in Egypt with a tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the iconic Sphinx. We’ll also take a Nile cruise, enjoying highlights along the way such as the temples of Karnak and Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, and Abu Simbel. Returning to Cairo we'll visit the world-famous Egyptian Museum, the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, the Saladin Citadel of Cairo and the Mohammed Ali Mosque.

Greece's Mountainous North

We cross the Mediterranean and travel to Greece. First we’ll explore the picturesque mountain villages and towns of Greece’s Macedonia prefecture. We'll witness a spectacular sunset over Meteora, enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo and embark on a walking tour of Ioannina and its castle. We’ll also visit the incredible cliff-top monasteries of Meteora, where monks have been settled since the 11th century.

Seaside Charm and Ancient History

From Meteora we travel south to Athens and then to the sun-kissed islands of Santorini and Mykonos. Here we'll explore picturesque villages and enjoy life at a relaxing pace. Our small group tour returns to Athens, the Greek capital, where we will delve into the country's classical history at the Acropolis and Temple of Hephaestus.

Embark Cruise: This afternoon we board our Nile River cruise ship.

Later we’ll explore the fascinating Karnak Temple, once linked to Luxor Temple by a 3-kilometre-long Avenue of Sphinxes. [B,L,D]

Please note: The luxury Nile cruise is not a private charter, and is shared with non Bunnik passengers. It operates between the cities of Luxor and Aswan which are only 240 kilometres apart, meaning this could easily be covered in only 1 or 2 days without stops. However, this allows us to spend more time sightseeing along the way, allowing you to relax and see life along the river.

Day 6. Nile Cruise

We explore the Valley of the Kings today. Carved deep into the limestone rock, each tomb has a similar pattern of three corridors, an antechamber and a sarcophagus chamber. We’ll be able to descend into the tombs to see examples of the elaborate and well-preserved hieroglyphic paintings. [B,L,D]
