Day 1 Buenos Aires

Welcome to Argentina and its cosmopolitan capital, Buenos Aires. Upon arrival you'll be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Buenos Aires

Your sightseeing this morning includes Plaza de Mayo, the Cathedral, Government House, and Recoleta Cemetery and Caminito Street in the colourful La Boca district. You’ll also visit the opulent Colon Theatre. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. [B]

Day 3 Buenos Aires - Mendoza

Today you’ll transfer by air to Mendoza, where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. [B]

Day 4 Mendoza

This morning you’ll head out on a full-day tour of the local wine region, enjoying tastings at each winery before indulging in a delicious lunch. [B, L]

Day 5 Mendoza

Enjoy a day at leisure to relax or explore at your own pace. [B]

Day 6 Mendoza - Salta

Enjoy a lazy morning before your flight to Salta this afternoon. After transferring to your hotel you‘ll discover Salta on a tour, including the Archaeological high mountain museum*, the main square, cathedral, cabildo and the convent of San Bernardo. [B]
*Please note: Archaeological high mountain museum is closed on Mondays.

Day 7 Salta - Purmamarca

This morning you’ll explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Humahuaca Gorge, known for the rippling streaks of colours that decorate its surfaces, via the quaint town of Tumbaya. [B]

Day 8 Purmamarca

Enjoy a day to explore some of the local sights. You may want to revisit Humahuaca Gorge or perhaps see the salt plain of Salinas Grandes, the picture-perfect town of Iruya or the mountain ranges of Hornocal. [B]

Day 9 Purmamarca - Salta

Today you’ll travel to Tilcara to discover the ancient Indian fortress of Pucará de Tilcara. Its strategic location was chosen to be easily defensible, and it provides great views over a long stretch of the Humuhuaca Gorge. [B]

Day 10 Salta - Cafayate

Enjoy a full day tour on your way to Cafayate today, driving through the villages of Cerrilos, La Merced, Ampascachi and La Viña before reaching Alemania on the verge of the Calchaquies Valleys. You’ll stop here to visit the Devil’s Throat, the Amphitheatre and the Castles before continuing on to Cafayate, stopping at a winery on the way. [B]

Day 11 Cafayate - Salta

Enjoy a later start before heading back to Salta. [B]

Day 12 Salta

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey. [B]

Please note: Package must start in Buenos Aires on a Wednesday, Friday or Sunday to fit in with flight schedules from Mendoza to Salta. However, the Maam Museum in Salta is closed on a Monday, therefore if this extension is started on a Wednesday, the Maam Museum will not be available to visit. It is not recommended to visit Northern Argentina between January and March due to heavy rains.

At Bunnik Tours we don’t put specific age limits on our tours, but we also recognise some travellers may find our itineraries challenging.
We have a duty of care to all tour participants and the tour guides, so we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness required by all our clients to attempt to ensure your safety and the safety of other travellers on our tours.
At Bunnik Tours our goal is for all our travellers to enjoy their tour, not struggle through it! Which is why we want to work with you to ensure you are on the best possible trip for your fitness level. We do reserve the right to refuse bookings if we feel that the requirements of the tour are too demanding.
Bunnik Tours are for independently minded travellers with good levels of mobility.

3. Extended periods of walking/hiking through humid forest areas in Rwanda, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica
4. Limited medical facilities in remote areas

Bunnik Tours travellers are required to at least:
1. Be able to walk 2-3 hours on uneven surfaces
2. Walk up multiple flights of stairs and short, steep hills
3. Stand for 20 minutes without needing to sit down, often in hot/humid climates
4. Carry their own luggage
5. Get on and off various modes of transport without assistance, including small boats
