Ancient Civilisations

Visit the famous sights of Lima, such as the Plaza de Mayor, the Cathedral, Torre Tagle Palace and the Larco Museum. Travel to Paracas and board your flight for an aerial view over the incredible Nazca Lines - a sight that can only be truly appreciated from the air. You also enjoy a tour of the Ballestas Islands, with their abundance of wildlife, before travelling deep into the Amazon Jungle.

Adventures in the Jungle

On arrival in the mighty Amazon, you'll take a boat ride to your Jungle Lodge. Enjoy a visit to the Canopy Tower - one of the longest treetop walkways in the world, and visit the native Yugua Indian Village to experience their culture and traditions. Along the way, you’ll get to experience the diverse flora and fauna that call the Amazon Jungle home.

Ruins of the Inca empire

Explore Cusco, the Sacred Valley and the impressive Machu Picchu. No tour of South America would be complete without seeing the spectacular Inca city of Machu Picchu. It’s an extremely spiritual place and will take your breath away. We make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy the views of Machu Picchu without the crowds, so you can really soak up the tranquil atmosphere.

Day 1. Arrive Lima

Welcome to Lima, Peru’s capital! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2. Lima

Your city tour this morning includes the Plaza Mayor, San Francisco Convent and the remarkable Larco Museum, containing priceless Incan artefacts. [B]

Day 3. Lima - Paracas

Travel to Paracas and board a flight for an aerial view over the incredible Nazca Lines. [B]

Day 4. Paracas - Lima

Cruise the Ballestas Islands to discover the abundance of sea lions, pelicans and penguins. [B]

Day 5. Lima - Iquitos - Amazon Jungle

Fly to Iquitos this morning, gateway to the mighty Amazon Jungle! On arrival, take a short boat ride to your jungle lodge. [B,L,D]

Day 6. Amazon Jungle

Enjoy a canopy walk amongst the treetops in the Sucusari Reserve, one of the longest treetop walkways in the world. [B,L,D]

Day 7. Amazon Jungle

Travel to the local Yugua Indian Village to learn about their culture and traditions. Then visit Neiser’s Reserve, home to many species of monkey. [B,L,D]

Day 8. Amazon Jungle - Cusco

Fly to Cusco, via Lima. [B]

Day 9. Cusco

This morning you’ll visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the Incan baths of Tambomachay. A walking tour this afternoon will take in the Cathedral of Santa Domingo and the Temple of the Sun. [B]

Day 10. Cusco - Sacred Valley

Travel into the magical Sacred Valley, stopping to visit the lively Pisac Market. Then tour the Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo. [B]

Day 11. Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu

A magical day awaits: travel by Vistadome train to the legendary Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu!  [B,D]

Day 12. Machu Picchu - Cusco

Enjoy a morning at leisure, or return to Machu Picchu for an optional second visit before returning to Cusco. [B]

Day 13. Cusco - Puno

Enjoy Peru’s scenic landscapes today as you travel by bus to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. [B,L]

Day 14. Puno

Visit a colourful Indian community on the Uros Islands, made entirely from reeds sourced from the lake. [B,L]

Day 15. Depart Puno

At Bunnik Tours we don’t put specific age limits on our tours, but we also recognise some travellers may find our itineraries challenging.
We have a duty of care to all tour participants and the tour guides, so we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness required by all our clients to attempt to ensure your safety and the safety of other travellers on our tours.
At Bunnik Tours our goal is for all our travellers to enjoy their tour, not struggle through it! Which is why we want to work with you to ensure you are on the best possible trip for your fitness level. We do reserve the right to refuse bookings if we feel that the requirements of the tour are too demanding.
Bunnik Tours are for independently minded travellers with good levels of mobility.

Our tours include:

2. Lots of walking
3. Local and authentic experiences including various modes of transport and accommodation

In some regions travellers can also expect:
1. Long days of travelling, at times on dirt and gravel roads in Africa
2. Extended periods at high altitude (3,000-4,000 metres) in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Ethiopia
3. Extended periods of walking/hiking through humid forest areas in Rwanda, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica
4. Limited medical facilities in remote areas

Bunnik Tours travellers are required to at least:
1. Be able to walk 2-3 hours on uneven surfaces
2. Walk up multiple flights of stairs and short, steep hills
3. Stand for 20 minutes without needing to sit down, often in hot/humid climates
4. Carry their own luggage
5. Get on and off various modes of transport without assistance, including small boats

Machu Picchu 2nd visit - half day - $91pp US
Your tour already includes one visit to Machu Picchu; however you may wish to take a second visit to explore this phenomenon further. Please note that the 2nd visit includes entry and transportation only (guide not included). 

Machu Picchu 2nd visit & Huayna Picchu - half day - $110pp US
Your tour already includes one visit to Machu Picchu; however you may wish to take a second visit to explore this phenomenon further and incorporate a climb up to Huayna Picchu (considered to provide the best view over Machu Picchu). Please note this includes entry into Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu and transportation only (guide not included). 

Please note: Huayna Picchu has a limited number of tickets available each day and on occasion it may not be possible to arrange entry upon arrival into Aguas Calientes. As an alternative you may wish to purchase your entrance ticket online in advance to secure entry. However, it is important to note that this option is non-refundable even if entry is cancelled due to bad weather. The online option will only secure your ticket to Huayna Picchu and entrance to Machu Picchu; the return bus from Aguas Calientes will be in addition and will need to be arranged locally. http://www.machupicchu.gob.pe

Hotel Jose Antonio Deluxe is located in the trendy Lima neighborhood of Miraflores. Pakaritampu, Sacred Valley

The name Pakaritampu derives from the Quechua words 'pakari' meaning dawn and 'tampu' meaning home.
