Some things to note

Some things to note icon

Please note:

  • Due to luggage restrictions, on day 1 you will need to pack a small bag only for your three night stay in the Amazon Jungle. Your remaining luggage will be stored in Puerto Maldonado until your return. Electricity is at a premium in the Amazon and you may only have access to power for a couple of hours a day. If you require a battery at night for medical reasons the lodge hotel can provide this but there may be an additional small charge for this service.
  • You will need to pack an overnight bag (maximum of 5 kilograms per bag) for your overnight stay in Machu Picchu. Due to limited space on the trains you are unable to take your main suitcase, it will however, be transferred to the hotel in Cusco so it is there for when you arrive. We suggest you bring an umbrella, spray jacket and strong insect repellent with you.

Inca Trail Permit:

  • $975pp - Minimum and maximum numbers may apply. Solo supplementary pricing applies. This option must be pre-booked. Not available in February. Good physical fitness is required for this high-altitude trek.

Optional Excursions

  • All optional excursions are based on minimum participants and are subject to availability. The length of optional excursions advised is an approximate only. Optional excursions can be booked on tour directly with your Tour Director or guide. We recommend arranging the booking at the beginning of the tour to avoid disappointment. Please note some optional excursions may also be available on multiple or alternate days. Prices are a guide only and are subject to change without prior notice. Payment by cash is preferred as there are no guarantees that credit card facilities will be available. Please check with your Tour Director or guide locally for information relating to this. Credit card fees and exchange rates are at the discretion of your bank.

Let's Talk Fitness

At Bunnik Tours, we pride ourselves on our ability to create unique, once in a lifetime small group tours that are filled with incredible experiences you might not be able to have on your own, or in a larger group. However, that does mean aspects of our itineraries can be challenging for some travellers.

We want to make sure all Bunnik Tours travellers enjoy their trip, not struggle through it, so let’s work together to ensure you’re on the right tour for your fitness level.

Fitness to Travel Requirements

Within seven days of making your booking, you will need to complete a Passenger Registration form, which also includes a fitness to travel declaration.

In this declaration, you must confirm you’re able to do the following:

  • Walk for a minimum of 2-3 hours daily at a group pace, on uneven surfaces without the use of any walking aid, often in humid forest areas
  • Regularly walk up multiple flights of stairs and short, steep hills
  • Stand for extended periods of time without needing to sit down, often in hot/humid climates
  • Carry your own luggage
  • Get on and off various modes of transport without assistance, including small boats
  • Manage extended periods of time at high altitude (3,000-4,000 metres)

If you do not feel that you can confidently manage all of the requirements set out above, please work with our team of Travel Specialists to find an alternative that is better suited to your current level of fitness.

Please visit our Fitness to Travel page for full details on our fitness policy.

FITNESS TO TRAVEL

In the itinerary, this symbol indicates a particularly challenging day, where there will be extended periods of walking time, often across uneven ground and in areas of high altitude or heat and humidity.
