Day 1. Arrive Lima

Bienvenido a Lima, Peru's colonial capital! Meet your fellow travellers tonight for a welcome drink.

Day 2. Lima

Tour Lima this morning, including the Lima Cathedral, the Convento de San Francisco, the Barranco district and the Art Museum. [B,D]

Day 3. Lima - Cusco

Today we fly to Cusco. We’ll enjoy lunch before exploring Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun. [B,L]

Day 4. Cusco

This morning we visit the ancient Incan fortress of Sacsayhuaman and explore the buzzing San Pedro Market, selling all things weird and wonderful. Later on a walking tour we’ll explore Santa Domingo Cathedral and the beautiful San Blas neighbourhood on a walking tour. [B]

Day 5. Cusco - Machu Picchu

Luxury Experience: A magical day as we travel on the Hiram Bingham Train through the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu. Sit back, relax and indulge in a decadent brunch, accompanied by a selection of Peruvian wines. [B,D]

Day 6. Machu Picchu - Sacred Valley

Enjoy a morning at leisure, giving you a second opportunity to visit Machu Picchu if you wish. This afternoon we’ll take the Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo. On the way to our hotel we’ll visit a local chicheria to try traditional chicha and taste some guinea pig, a South American delicacy. [B]

Day 7. Sacred Valley

This morning we explore the archaeological ruins of Ollantaytambo, an ancient Incan fortress. [B,L]

Day 8. Sacred Valley - Cusco

We return to Cusco, stopping to visit the lively Pisac markets and impressive ruins along the way. We’ll also enjoy a weaving demonstration and meet the llamas and vicuñas in Awanacancha. [B]

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Cusco at your own pace, or simply relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel. [B]

Day 10. Cusco - Lake Titicaca

Luxury Experience: Board the Andean Explorer train in Cusco. Unwind in your luxurious cabin as the train begins its journey through the majestic High Andes Mountains to Puno. Savour lunch in one of the elegant dining cars. Enjoy a sensational sunset over the La Raya Mountains as you dine this evening, then retire to the bar as the train continues to Lake Titicaca. Day 11. Lake Titicaca

An early start to catch the breathtaking sunrise across Lake Titicaca before returning to the dining car for a decadent breakfast. Today we'll explore the famous Uros Islands and learn about life on the lake. We continue to Taquile Island where we’ll learn more about the unique traditions of the inhabitants before we have lunch. We'll return in time for afternoon tea as the train continues to Arequipa. Enjoy dinner and the deluxe amenities on-board this evening. [B,L,D]

Day 12. Lake Titicaca - Cañahuas - Colca

We'll discover the spellbinding scenery of Lake Lagunillas and explore the Sumbay Caves, home to more than 500 cave paintings. Indulge in a final lunch on-board before we disembark and transfer to Colca. [B,L,D]

Day 13. Colca - Arequipa

En route to Arequipa, we visit the Cross of the Condor and the terraces of Antahuilque. [B,L]

At Bunnik Tours we don’t put specific age limits on our tours, but we also recognise some travellers may find our itineraries challenging.
We have a duty of care to all tour participants and the tour guides, so we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness required by all our clients to attempt to ensure your safety and the safety of other travellers on our tours.
At Bunnik Tours our goal is for all our travellers to enjoy their tour, not struggle through it! Which is why we want to work with you to ensure you are on the best possible trip for your fitness level. We do reserve the right to refuse bookings if we feel that the requirements of the tour are too demanding.
Bunnik Tours are for independently minded travellers with good levels of mobility.

Our tours include:
1. Generous amounts of free time
2. Lots of walking
3. Local and authentic experiences including various modes of transport and accommodation

In some regions travellers can also expect:
1. Long days of travelling, at times on dirt and gravel roads in Africa
2. Extended periods at high altitude (3,000-4,000 metres) in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Ethiopia
3. Extended periods of walking/hiking through humid forest areas in Rwanda, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica
4. Limited medical facilities in remote areas

Bunnik Tours travellers are required to at least:
1. Be able to walk 2-3 hours on uneven surfaces
2. Walk up multiple flights of stairs and short, steep hills
3. Stand for 20 minutes without needing to sit down, often in hot/humid climates
4. Carry their own luggage
5. Get on and off various modes of transport without assistance, including small boats

Your tour already includes one visit to Machu Picchu; however you may wish to take a second visit to explore this phenomenon further. Please note that the 2nd visit includes entry and transportation only (guide not included).

Machu Picchu 2nd visit & Huayna Picchu - half day - $110pp US
Your tour already includes one visit to Machu Picchu; however you may wish to take a second visit to explore this phenomenon further and incorporate a climb up to Huayna Picchu (considered to provide the best view over Machu Picchu). Please note this includes entry into Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu and transportation only (guide not included).

Please note: Huayna Picchu has a limited number of tickets available each day and on occasion it may not be possible to arrange entry upon arrival into Aguas Calientes. As an alternative you may wish to purchase your entrance ticket online in advance to secure entry. However, it is important to note that this option is non-refundable even if entry is cancelled due to bad weather. The online option will only secure your ticket to Huayna Picchu and entrance to Machu Picchu; the return bus from Aguas Calientes will be in addition and will need to be arranged locally. http://www.machupicchu.gob.pe
