1. Tasmania - Gordon River Cruise

One of the many highlights of our Tasmania in Depth tour is cruising the famous Gordon River aboard the Spirit of the Wild. Located on the remote west coast of Tasmania, this relaxing journey takes us to Hells Gates, a notoriously shallow and dangerous channel between Macquarie Harbour and the Great Southern Ocean.  From there, we delve in to the calm waters of the Gordon River. The Gordon River is a major perennial river that meanders through some of the most pristine world heritage listed wilderness areas of Tasmania. Home to huge political controversy in the 1980’s, the Gordon River became one of the most significant environmental campaigns in Australian history.  Aboard the Spirit of the Wild cruising in whisper mode, we have the chance to absorb the incredible peace and tranquility whilst gliding through the water.  Along the way, we learn more about the region’s infamous convict history with a visit to Sarah Island, as well as the chance to get up close and personal with the famous huon pine on a wilderness walk.

2. South Australia - The Ultimate Wine Experience

South Australia has a well-deserved reputation for producing outstanding wine. Possibly the most famous of them all is Penfolds Grange.  An absolute highlight for Bunnik guests is the opportunity to taste this iconic wine.  Whether touring on Discover South Australia, or the summer version A Taste of South Australia, all Bunnik guests in South Australia will be treated to this special experience.  In addition to tasting the exclusive Grange, guests will try some of Penfolds other most coveted wines in a private tasting room. This all takes place at Penfolds Magill Estate, complete with a tour of the winery and the original Grange cottage, the 1844 home of the Penfolds founders. The picturesque setting of Penfolds Magill estate, delicious wines and, of course, a taste of the famous Grange will ensure that this experience is one to remember!

3. Western Australia - Cruising the Recherche Archipelago

Pristine and rugged coastlines spring to mind when thinking of Esperence, Western Australia. Bunnik guests on the South West in Depth tour will spend half a day exploring this exquisite region from the water.  The Recherche Archipelago, known locally as the Bay of Isles, is a group of 105 islands off the coast of Esperence on Western Australia’s south coast.  With the opportunity to uncover a variety of wildlife in their natural environment including New Zealand fur seals, Australian sea lions, Cape Barren geese, common & bottlenose dolphins, white-bellied sea eagles and, in the right season, whales, this experience is not to be missed!

Full commentary is provided throughout the leisurely cruise where guests can choose to snorkel in the crystal clear waters or soak up the sun & scenery from the deck.

5. Canberra - More Than Politics

We may be told to never discuss politics in polite company, however, it sure does provide an interesting subject for our Parliament House Tour, though there is far ‘more than politics’ to experience on the Canberra & the Sapphire Coast tour.  This behind-the-scenes tour of Parliament House is a once in a lifetime experience for guests.  From learning about the history of the building and the secrets within its walls, to the impressive architecture and collection of art, this tour has something for everyone. Ending the tour with a meal cooked by the in-house chefs and a tasting of the Parliamentary Librarians Gin, you’ll be surprised and delighted by how much more than politics there is to Parliament House.
