COVID-19 as at 8 March 2020

Bunnik Tours has been carefully evaluating the unfolding situation around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) which originated in Wuhan, China.

As at 8 March 2020

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact travel and holiday plans around the world.

The health, wellbeing and safety of our travellers and staff remains our highest priority.  Bunnik Tours’ operations department and management team is actively monitoring all our destinations and tours currently in operation.

Bunnik Tours has well-established crisis management plans in place and have been through many disruptions before including the Arab Spring & Egypt Revolution, the volcanic ash cloud, SARS, September 11, Boxing Day Tsunami, Japan Fukushima Tsunami and Bali Bombings.

Through our experiences we have learnt to rely on verifiable, credible information sources rather than social media or dramatized media headlines.

Our decisions are therefore guided by information received through the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) Smartraveller system, the World Health Organisation, our local on-the-ground teams and local authorities.

Our on-the-ground teams have always been empowered to make any necessary changes to itineraries and sightseeing to suit local conditions that impact client experience and wellbeing.

The situation with COVID-19 is changing on a daily basis. We are making amendments to tours as required. This included cancelling departures where appropriate. Please note that sometimes these changes are as a result of cancelled flights or countries restricting entry from certain countries rather than an increased risk of infection.

We have relaxed amendment and cancellation conditions on a number of tours to Japan, Europe and the Middle East.

All passengers due to travel in the next 8 weeks who have concerns are encouraged to contact their travel agent or our office to discuss available options.

For passengers travelling from June 2020 onwards we would encourage you to hold off making any decisions until the COVID-19 situation becomes clearer.

If guests have any questions around our upcoming tours, they should contact us on 1800 286 645 or [email protected].

Further updates will be provided as required.
