At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to having a positive impact on the communities we visit. Our small tour groups are low-impact and don’t ruin the very places we go to see. We build in free time to help spread economic benefits and design itineraries to avoid over-tourism where possible.
We are focussed on reducing our environmental footprint with initiatives in place within some of our most popular destinations in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. In 2019 in Slovenia, Croatia, Ecuador, Sri Lanka and Kenya we have been trialling the use of reusable bottles with a goal to have 80% of our small group tours using these by 2021. This is saving at least 3 bottles per person per day, an average of 50-75 bottles per person per trip. Passengers take these home further reducing the impact of single use plastic water bottles over the life of the reusable bottle.
The Bunnik Travel Group Charity Program
The Bunnik Travel Group and our associated brands Bunnik Tours and the Small Group Touring Co., are committed to giving back to the communities we visit. For each booking received we make a donation to the following organisations which do a tremendous job helping the less fortunate. Over the years we have raised and donated more than $100,000 through this program. The charities supported include the Sri Lanka Community Projects, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and their Walk to Cure Diabetes program, Bali Kids / Carry for Kids and the Fred Hollows Foundation.
