Some things to note

Some things to note icon

Note on Esna Lock and Itinerary Schedule: Please note that due to the high volume of river traffic all cruise itineraries are subject to change without notice. The order and timing of sightseeing may therefore change however all inclusions will remain the same. Similarly travel through the Esna Lock is subject to river traffic and local conditions which means we may pass through the lock during the night or have an extended wait prior to entering the lock.

Please note: Due to local laws and regulations, the only mode of transport available to visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu is by horse and carriage. You are welcome to explore Edfu independently or stay on board the cruise to enjoy the ship’s facilities if you would prefer.

Please note: The luxury Nile cruise is not a private charter, and is shared with non Bunnik passengers. It operates between the cities of Luxor and Aswan which are only 240km apart, meaning this could easily be covered in only 1 or 2 days without stops. However, this allows us to spend more time sightseeing along the way, allowing you to relax and see life along the river.

Please note: Due to limitations on the Nile dahabiya vessel, the bedding configuration of your cruise cabin cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, our accommodation in Cairo and our dahabiya vessel are both 'dry' - meaning that alcohol is not served. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol into the hotel and on board the cruise.

Nile Dahabiya Cruise

Egypt flag Nile Cruise

Dahabiya are beautifully crafted wooden ships, decorated with period furnishing. These river-going sailboats were common in Egypt in the days of the monarchy (1920s-1940s) when aristocrats and sophisticated travellers cruised the Nile in style. They used the boats for weeks at a time, and made their way from temple to temple enjoying the river breeze.
Relying on the soft river currents, the dahabiya will take you back in time to a gentler, more gracious era and allow you to experience the Nile's romance in an intimate, privileged setting.

Facilities: air-conditioning; hairdryer; sun deck
