It’s safe to say that experiences are the reason we travel. Satisfying that craving of being immersed in a new culture, delighting in a newfound favourite food, or even experiencing that feeling of getting lost in a new city once again.

At Bunnik Tours, that’s why we’ve created our popular special experiences, helping you get to the essence of the places we visit.

When we travel, we all want to see the destination highlights, but it is often the unique and special moments that are the most memorable. Our special experiences are unique, interesting and fun, and the best bit of all... they’re included on our tours at no extra cost!

Europe

In Morocco, one of our special experiences is a cooking lesson in a beautiful Moroccan riad. Our guests then enjoy the delicious food they prepared for lunch.

Take to the waters of the Krka River in Slovenia and enjoy a cruise on Rudolf’s Raft passing under the river’s four bridges while indulging in refreshments and entertainment.

A special experience can even be the accommodation we use. In Alberobello, Italy, we stay in a traditional heritage listed trullo, unique to the region of Puglia for two nights. In Italy, we’ll also learn about the local cuisine and the art of pasta making, before enjoying our delicious creations for dinner.

On our Turkey in Depth tour, we spend four nights in a cave hotel in the heart of Cappadocia. This allows you to experience first-hand the true culture and beauty of the region.

Egypt & the Middle East

In Egypt, one of our special experiences is exploring the incredible twin temples of Abu Simbel; this temple complex truly puts the 'special' in special experience. Another is indulging in a decadent high tea overlooking the Nile River at Aswan’s historic Old Cataract Hotel.

We’ll take a dip in Jordan’s Dead Sea, where the salt-drenched waters mean you’ll float without effort. And in Israel, we’ll enjoy a spectacular sound and light show at the Tower of David Museum.

If special experiences that involve food and wine are more your scene, we’ve got that covered too. In Jordan, we learn to prepare delicious local cuisine in a hands-on cooking class in Amman, while in Israel, we visit Golan Heights Winery for a wine tasting and behind the scenes tour.

Africa

In Tanzania, our special experience takes us to the high forest canopies of Lake Manyara Treetop Walkway – one of the longest in Africa. Here we’ll admire the scenery, monkeys and birds from this unique perspective.

Another African special experience can be found in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. We’ll enjoy an incredible scenic flight over the delta’s expanded waterways, white claypans and palm-lined lagoons.

We’ll enjoy a sundowner drink as we watch the sun set over the vast plains of the Namib Desert in Namibia; and in Kenya, we’ll take an engaging Swahili cooking class.

In Vietnam, we’ll walk along the rail tracks of Hanoi seeing a different side of Vietnams capital. We'll meet with locals and learn about their daily life just meters from the trains.

While touring South Korea, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, where in this special experience we’ll enjoy a tea ceremony with monks.

We’ll also do as the locals do in Laos. In Luang Prabang, our special experience allows us to uncover the nation’s tastes and traditions during a game of Petanque and typical Laotian dinner.

South America

In Brazil, we will get exclusive early access before the official opening hours to Rio De Janeiro’s Corcovado and the Christ the Redeemer statue for breathtaking panoramic views over the city as the sun rises. This is a moment that will stay with you for years to come.

Don your dancing shoes in Argentina for a once-in-a-lifetime traditional tango lesson, before we enjoy a lively dinner and show. The party doesn’t stop here, in Peru we’ll learn how to make pisco sour, a signature Peruvian drink.

An experience like no other, we’ll journey to a village in Ecuador and test our haggling skills to buy a pig from a local farmer. Our newly acquired pig will accompany us on our bus ride to a neighbouring village where we will present them with the pig as our gift, naming the pig and learning about the community.

Australia

On our Tasmania in Depth tour we spend the day taking in the beautiful sights of Freycinet National Park and the surrounding area from the water on a cruise. This special experience gives us beautiful views of the park from an unusual perspective.

In Western Australia, we’ll cruise the Recherche Archipelago made up of over 100 islands off the coast of beautiful Esperance. Here we’ll pass stunning beaches of crystal clear waters, all before getting a chance to swim and snorkel amongst the local sea life.
