Luggage Information

Because of the limited storage space in light aircraft and safari vehicles in Africa, please note the following luggage restrictions for this tour.

  • A soft bag is required
  • There is a maximum weight of 15kg per person

If you have any other questions about luggage requirements, please feel free to call one of our consultants on 1800 286 645 or email us.

Please note:

  • Both Kenya and Tanzania have enforced a total ban on single-use plastic bags. This includes garbage bags, carrier bags and shopping bags. Zip-lock bags that a lot of airlines require passengers to place their liquids within are okay to use and carry, however, in line with their environmental intentions, we recommend you take them with you when you depart. Please ensure that before you either board a flight to Kenya and/or Tanzania, or arrive at a border entry point, that you have disposed of any plastic bags that may be within your checked or hand luggage. Failure to do so may result in a penalty.
  • Whilst on safari, ensure you wear layers, it can be quite cool in the early hours but can warm up as the sun rises.
  • On day 8, you have the opportunity to enjoy an optional early morning hot air balloon safari over the phenomenal plains of the Serengeti. This would be done in lieu of the early morning game drive that is scheduled. Due to limited availability, it is encouraged that you discuss your intentions with your guide on day 4, to ensure they can secure your tickets and avoid disappointment. Please refer to your optional tours list for further information.
  • The walk within Lake Manyara forest is roughly 2 hours in duration and may be quite strenuous for some. It includes walking up steep walkways, down narrow paths and over un-even rocks. Although it is a rewarding and enjoyable experience, should you wish to not participate, please make your guide aware prior to the excursion.
  • On day 15, you have the opportunity to enjoy an optional early morning hot air balloon safari over the famous Maasai Mara. This would be done in lieu of the early morning game drive that is scheduled. Due to limited availability, it is encouraged that you discuss your intentions with your guide on day 11, to ensure they can secure your tickets and avoid disappointment. Please refer to your optional tours list for further information.
  • The airline ticket for the flight between Amboseli and Nairobi has been issued locally by our operator.
  • The airline ticket for the flight between the Maasai Mara and Nairobi has been issued locally by our operator.
  • The bush dinner experience may be undertaken at breakfast, lunch or dinner and is dependent on the weather forecast for the day. The final decision will be made by your guide and the lodge locally. Regardless, all meal inclusions will remain the same.
  • If you’re looking to purchase Kenyan souvenirs, the gift shops within the lodges are very reasonably priced and offer a good range of products. Shops at rest stops can be more expensive and can often pressure sales.
